Stay calm, plan your strategy, and roll with the punches. Remember, by this point in the game you have a solid party that you know how to use effectively - otherwise, you wouldn't be facing the Brain of Darkness. Furthermore, destroying it frees you up to inflict damage-over-time effects on the other locks, since its heal only triggers once when it is defeated. Eliminating the Padlock of Wasting early can increase your chances, as it has a chance to prevent you from restoring HP as long as it is active. If you can afford to deal with Mental Lashes and Paralyzing Fear and don't rely too heavily on ranged attacks, consider saving the Bolt of Lamentation for last since it enhances the other Locks when it is destroyed. Breaking these pews will reward valuable Consecrated Pews at the end of the battle. The Prophet spawns on rank 4, with wooden pews occupying ranks 1, 2 and 3. Blight also works decently well, so if by some miracle your Plague Doctor isn't busy healing the wounded she can apply additional persistent damage.As you can see, you'll need to vary your tactics when dealing with each Lock. The Prophet is a boss which appears in the Ruins, and, like other bosses, has three variations (Sonorous, Fulminating and Gibbering). Having the Runaway in your party will make dealing with these foes much easier. The Lost Battalion - and, importantly, the Dreaming General - are susceptible to Burn. The Highwayman's Highway Robberyskill is also useful for removing the large number of buffs the Battalion uses, and the upgraded version can even steal those buffs and apply them to the Highwayman. Be sure to equip at least one Skill that can clear corpses, such as the Graverobber's Dead of Night or the Leper's Purge while traversing the Tangle. They're coordinated, hard-hitting, and can even be revived at full health by a Bishop. The General's Keep is guarded by the Lost Battalion, one of the game's toughest enemy groups. You'll be partially healed between floors, but if you aren't confident you can take the General down, you can always retreat before approaching him and try again on a different run.
